The memories keep pulsating even today to the delight of my senses. After all, I just have to look at the books and I am reminded of my journey.
It all began with my Kaffeinated Konversations whatsapp group. They were a bunch of eager beaver readers who wanted to grab every single page. As for me, I wanted to leave the chaos of the world for better people to manage while I went into the world of imagination. After all, imagination is better than reality mostly! 😉
While Kaffeinated Konversations actually started on 10 April 2016, the subscription book box concept was birthed on 1 November, 2016. The recommendations, book reviews and the need for bettering the reading experience pushed me to get it all out for people to be part of this engaging experience. At the core of it all, our objective is – equipping readers to have their own libraries. But hello! Whatever your plan, God has other plans! So while we were waiting for it all to begin with a bang; the government brought out a bombshell – Demonetisation.
It was the year of demonetisation and it spiraled all our plans out of control. Readers wanted COD facility which we didn’t have. (In fact, we don’t have it even today, ultimately working in our favor to prevent Covid19 contamination). However we know that having faith in our abilities has always inspired new confidence in our team and so we trudged on!
In our 4 year journey we have grown in understanding various aspects of doing what we love. We were totally new to everything and have learnt everything from the scratch be it marketing book boxes, improving on the boxes, bringing something new to the boxes or the services. With litmeets, annual literature events, author connect, book promotions and lot more literature related stuff – we are bursting in seams with experiences. Today, we still want to learn more! With our zealous attempt to get going we hope to come closer to our dream of ‘intellectual revolution’ by helping readers build an oasis of good literature right in their homes!
